Sound Settings Messed Up - can't record audio in music programs

All the indicators are showing as having sound coming through. I've just found that if I use a different MIDI controller I can get some sound through and record things, which is a big step forward.

That makes sense. Routing the signal is obviously important also. Channels need to be set etc. Also make sure in your audio/midi settings that your midi controllers are selected so they can operate and send signal where it needs to be sent.
