The delidding process is for those who bought a CPU and even under the perfect conditions it wouldn't stay cool. I read about a guy that OC'd his 3570K to 4.0GHz with a water cooler and he couldn't keep it from throttling. His idle temps with a water cooler at STOCK temps were in the 50's.........he just had crap luck and got a bad chip. About 1-2% of early Ivy Bridge chips fell into that category. Those were perfect candidates for delidding because Intel wouldn't replace it with another CPU so why not? Some idiots who had a decent chip took that idea and ran with it and destroyed perfectly good chips to lower temps 5*.......not worth it in my opinion.
Ah the things one can do with a vice and a mallet LOL!!
Personally I thought he was brave to do that and no I wouldn't. But it does make you think what the heck is Intel thinking of when it comes to compounds inside that casing eh??
Sorry NoN......I've been in and out here lately and I wasn't able to help you out. If you have any other problems, please send a PM, because I certainly won't miss that. By the way, what are you up to right now as far as your OC, temps, voltage, etc?
Yeah, don't feel sorry mates!
Its just Ok around here!
As you know the setting are about what was set previously. I'm just waiting to know if 4.2MHz will stay 24/7 rock stable.
Downloaded that Prime95 v27.7 winx64 and will run it for a while (certainly not 24h for 4.2MHz) but was waiting the best moment of the day (that damn electricity bill won't take me over!).
Well I can beat out a single 780 with CF but other then that, this card smokes
AMD will answer the call again soon personally i'm fine for a good while
Rumour's have it that AMD 9*** will be up there with Nvid's 780's but how much truth there is to it we're yet to find out. Would be nice though to enit.
I maybe wrong but i'm pretty sure i read it as 9. I can't remember where i read it though and it was only a couple of days ago..
I'll try to find it again.
