    Windows 7 Enterprise x 64 strange behavior

I recently built a new computer and installed Windows 7 Home Premium. I installed several ancillary programs and everything was working great, until, I attempted to use an older Nikon Camera, a D70. Home Premium didn't recognize the camera or the data files, they were too old. As I was researching what to do, I discovered that Windows 7 Enterprise and Professional have the ability to recognize RAW files in many digital cameras. I work at a state government institution where I have free access to Windows 7 Enterprise. Cool, thinks I. I update to Enterprise.

Miracle, I plug in the Nikon and the Windows Explorer goes right to the camera, photos available, life is good...except for one single program I am unable to make work at all now.

Blue Iris, by Foscam, is a security camera software. I purchased it because I purchased several Foscam cameras and figured the software to control them from the same manufacturer seemed like a good idea. It worked like a charm after I finally figured out all the little idiosyncrasies.

Since updating to Enterprise, I haven't been able to get the program to open at all. I uninstalled the program, then re-installed from the disc, still same problem. So I uninstall again and go online and download the latest from Blue Iris, exact same result.

When I double click the icon, the BI windows opens and immediately a "Windows has encountered a problem and the program shut down, windows is searching for a solution" window pops open. It never finds a solution, and the only option is to close the program. I don't know where to look or what to do next.

Anyone with knowledge of Enterprise have any suggestions?

    Hello there!

There might be some Application Data related files causing the crash. I would recommend to uninstall it completely using Revo Uninstaller. And see if that work. Also check the Event Viewer

Did the software say it was compatible with your type of Windows 7? If not... Then either ask for support for enterprise or find another one.

Welcome to Seven Forums Timboty. The program should work on Windows 7, Enterprise shouldn't matter. They have a setup page

Foscam.us ? Wireless Network IP Cameras » Blog Archive » Basic Guide on Setting Up Your Foscam Camera

    From the Support tab HERE

Did the setup (which you had done before, right?) seem to go OK? The support tab has links to many things including ActiveX Controls for IE on Windows 7.

As Capt.Jack mentioned, if it is indeed a Windows problem, and not a program issue, Event Logs may give some clues

Event Viewer - Open and Use in Windows 7

Start> In search box type Event Viewer> Enter> When the Event viewer opens expand Custom Views, and click on Administrative events

    Windows 7 Enterprise x 64 strange behavior-event.jpg

Find the timestamp from trying to open the program, or attempt to open it and create a new event

You are the administrator of this PC? You might try right clicking the application and choosing Run as administrator as well. You could try a Clean Start and see if there is a conflict

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

If you have another user on the PC, you might see if it works there, or enable the hidden Admin user and try it there (disable it again after testing)

Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable

    They also have a forum

    http://foscam.us/forum/

    And Technical Support: support@foscam.us

If needed. It could be a common problem they are aware of?
